A workshop for enhancing knowledge and skills related to mental health in life, relationships, and the workplace.
Your mind and body are always at work to find ways to stay balanced and healthy. The below components of the Mind & Body at Work program will assist in achieving that goal as they are expanded on with conversations, content, and case studies, relevant to your world. Communication strategies are outlined and practiced.
Participants gain sought-after skills to enhance personal wellness and to support those around us.
The Mind & Body at Work is delivered virtually (online) over 2 to 3 sessions resulting in 7 to 9 hours of Mental Health training for each participant.
The program is divided into 7-modules as seen below with the total time for delivery able to be adjusted to run 7 to 9 hours.
· To identify when mental health issues may be affecting and individual or impacting their enjoyment of life and work.
· To interact with others in a non-threatening manner about mental health.
· To engage in conversations about mental health and develop confidence to support others.
· Introductory session surrounding mental health in the workplace and common mental health-related problems
· Identify some of the valuable tools many of us already have for meaningful interactions and conversations about mental health
· Discuss essential insights into how stigma develops, persists, and the impact of it today
· Explore the following four components of stigma: Labeling, Stereotyping, Division, and Discrimination
· Learn how to identify signs and symptoms of mental health and stress in ourselves and others that may be causing distress, disruption, and ultimately disability
· Explore the Mental Health Continuum, the Spectrum of Early Intervention, and peer-to-peer support skills
· Discuss the following 4 pillars of resilience: Mental Hardiness, Physical, Spiritual, and Social
· Explore Core Beliefs to shed light on why resiliency dwindles at times, and strategies to be more intentional about enhancing each pillar of resilience
· Learn about the effects of trauma and PTSD on the brain, body, and overall mental health
· Discuss the connection mental health has to sleep, hope, and safe productive work performance
· Recognize the importance of trust and communication for good relationships and positive interactions about mental health
· Practice communicating with Acceptance, Genuineness, and Empathy while working through relevant case scenarios
· Identify how we are responsible for our mental health and practical strategies that we can develop
· Design MICRO goals related to mental wellness that provides a manageable framework to address mental health that isn’t overwhelming.
· lecture components, interactive components where the participants will respond to questions from the facilitators
· breakout sessions where small groups are tasked with developing a conversation that incorporates artful communication with a person who may be experiencing a mental health issue
· as well as discussion and tasks related to the focus of each of the individual modules.
Learners are assessed through their participation in answering open questions, participating in large and small group conversations, and engagement through asking questions of the facilitators for clarification or further inquiry, as well as responding to numerous polls throughout the workshop.
The program is offered at a rate of $195 per participant with a minimum group size of 10 participants.
Upon completion a Certificate/Record of completion will be emailed to the participant or the program coordinator if that is preferred. The Certificate will indicate the completion of 7 to 9-hours of Mental Health training time and lists the modules that were covered.
The training can be live-in-person over 1 day or 2 half-days or the workshop can be delivered virtually, which will then take place over 2 or 3 days.
Each of the below topics can be delivered in separate session of 45 to 90 minutes and can be part of the Mind & Body at Work Program as 45 minute additional Deeper-Dive components.
These topics enhance the understanding of each element and improve the participant’s likelihood of seeking appropriate support or professional help.
· Anxiety- When your Present overshadows your Future
· Depression- When the Past and Present Overshadow my Future
· Suicide Awareness, Prevention, and Intervention
· Coping with Life- Are Substances Overshadowing my Today and Tomorrow?
· The Current Climate- Change, Transition, or Crisis and Strategies to move from Change to Transition
